Logo Design & Stream Scenes

Godzziilla is an American Twitch Streamer who plays a variety of games and is very much community focused.

We began working with Godzziilla back on Mixer, where we designed a new logo and channel overlay that had a retr/neon aesthetic. This design worked great on stream but we ran into issues when it came to setting up the branding for merchandising and print design.

After Mixer shut down, we decided to readdress the branding and get everything set up ready for the transition to Twitch, including ensuring the branding could be carried across to print and merchandising design.

Logo Design

When we were approaching the redesign of the new logo, we wanted to move away from the neon effect as that was the main area causing issues with the print design. The glow effects on the previous design didn't translate well to print.

We decided to go with something much simpler and more modern that could be used as a logomark on merchandise and expanded to a channel brand for Twitch and Social Media.

We ultimately decided to go with a negative space design, with a feature made from the 'G' lettering in the logotext.

This design allowed us to use the smaller logomark across merchandise and social icons and expand to the fuller logotext across the channel design and social banners.

With the logomark and logotext designed, we got to work designing some social media banners, Twitch headers and stream scenes. We wanted to make sure the design aesthetic was consistent across all the channel and social media branding, and at the same time make the stream scenes a little more visually interesting.

Right-aligned text was used to draw the eye to key areas of the screen where we wanted to have some animation run from right to left. We used a looped animation to showcase the current scene name and a glowing light animation to add more visual interest to the background.

The light-streak effect was added to the text to encourage the viewers eye back to the origin point of the animation. This was also carried over to an animated nameplate that can be placed on separate scenes.
